Not a good show on the GP races today, at least not the 250s and 500s (I didn't manage to get up for the 125s, so I can't tell about that one). If you think it was boring, give it another shot sometime - it's usually much more intense and close.

I did manage to see some of the 250 + 500 GP's. The one thing that instantly grabed my attention is how effective the on-board cameras are, especially on the rear. I saw a great slide, which was captured perfectly by the on-boad camera as the bike skid riderless along the tarmac, with the dismounted driver in tow - now that's what I call action! The one thing I can't understand is why does the race have to be stopped because of rain? Can't they introduce pit stops for changing the tyres to wets?

The danger is so much greater for bikes if the track is wet. They have two options (if the race has made it to less than half-distance); a) stop it temporarily, proclaim it a wet race, let everybody change their tyres (if they want) and restart the event. Or b) if they suspect rain, they can call it a wet race before the start, and then they must come in for a tyre change if it really begins to rain. Even then, riders may see fit to stop the race themselves if they find it too dangerously.

BTW, did you see the first leg of the Superbike event? Now, that was great racing :g
