Stuck in traffic yesterday on Pearse Street. Same old traffic build-up, only this time it was denser because of the bus strike. Then all of a sudden, I heard the wailing sound of more than a few sirens. Looked in my rear view mirror only to see 3 to 4 cop motorbikes, blue lights flashing, arms waving franticly. The traffic was rapidly dividing into two, with a clear passageway in between. “This looks interesting” I thought. Must be somebody important. Then a high speed procession of two Alfa 166's speed by. I was in awe. I saw GOD. I saw Michael Schumacher.

Now Ciaran,

I get a bit worried about you at times. What did you have for lunch? Was it the regular liquid lunch followed by a few SMALL PINTS of the black stuff. :D

What was Michael Schumacher doing in Ireland yesterday anyhow?

Also saw "God", as you refer to him, but not in Dublin. At the Monaco GP last year, himself and Irvine coming off the Ferrari yacht towards the paddock, and later MS eating his chips in the Ferrari motorhome. Actually managed to get both MS and EI to sign my programme!!! Anyone jealous??

I'm hoping to see Michael Schumacher and the rest of the drivers in the Monaco GP in the next few months. I will be there for 4 days to take it all in.

I just hope that I have enough money to return home after been in the casino's over there.

Phil, if you're there for Thursday evening, and are enough of an anorak to want to meet drivers and such like, take a walk around the "Stars & Bars" restaurant down beside the paddock. In fact, for those who've not been, its worth noting that there is public access all around the paddock and no-one can get in or out unless its past you.

Also, EJ had a nice little party on his yacht on Saturday night last year and was good enough to sign stuff and pose for photos before going off to the ball with his wife - on two mountain bikes!

Have a good time - I wish I were going back!!
