OK, I need a little help here, so if anyone knows their camcorders, then please help!
Basically I'm interested in buying a good all purpose mini-dv camcorder. Don't really care about make - Sony , Panasonic, Canon, JVC... etc. are all contenders.
I don't think I'll be doing too much video editing, if any, so does that mean I don't require DV in? If not then that should drop the price a little. Anyhow, I believe that DV-in is only software disabled in Europe, and that you can purchase a widget to re-enable it – anyone know about that?
The ability to take good quality stills would be a bonus (I've read that many digital camcorders aren't too good at that when it comes to getting them printed as the quality isn't as good as a digital camera).
What other features should I be looking for? Optical zoom, nitelux, mic, CCD (?)… Any recommended models? I've bought a copy of What Camcorder, but is there any online Irish sites which can give equivalent prices in Euros for Ireland?? Any good links appreciated.
