Ok im hoping someone can help me out here!
Ive recently purchased a set of white alloys and am having trouble removing some of the ground in brake dust and tar,so what is the best wheel cleaner for my wheels bearing in mind that i dont want to damage the finnish on the alloys or turn them yellowy?

Hi there,

Depends on two things: how badly marked the wheels are and if they have a clearcoat on them. More than likely they are coated so I suggest getting a quality cleaner such as Autoglym's and give them a good going over. If you have a tar remover, try that first so you can see what exactly is tar and what is brakedust.

To get rid of brakedust, use a few cloths and maybe a soft toothbrush to get into awkward places. Remember that you can't reverse any holes or chips that may be there (not easily anyway) but I'm sure you'll do a good job. Give it about an hour though. There's no quick way to do it properly.

Let us know how you get on.

Brian

Ok i bought the autoglym wheel cleaner and tar remover!
It turned out that 99%of the tough spots where nothing more than tar and rubbed off easily with the tar remover and a toothbrush, the wheel cleaner worked well too and thewheels are now 100% spotless!
CHEERS!:D
