Anyone know how I can get rid of my wiper shuddering ad squeaking problem ? I guess I have wax on it .. but even if I use soap on it , it still shudders.... What can I do?

Happened me recently. I think the combination of wet & really cold affects blades as it happened to a couple of other people at the same time. I tried softening them up with hot water, lightly sanding the edge, straightening the wiper itself in case it got "bowed". In the end I replaced the rubbers. End of problem.

Anyone else have suggestions?

Brian.

I was afraid that using sandpaper it will leave tiny imperfections in the blade and cause the windscreen to be scratches.

Yep, same thing happened to me too. I think it was a case of cheap wiper blades to be honest. I bought a universal set and cut them to size. To be honest I don't think that they were too good to begin with, although they did get worse with age.

In the end I had them replaced with the real thing last week when she was serviced. Problem solved.

Does anyone think that this could be due to the windscreen instead of the wiper? Like when using RainX it leaves a layer of coating over the windscreen and when it ages the coating begins to cause these problems...

How would we remove this coating? Normal detergen will do ?

Not sure how to remove RainX. I would probably try dish-washing liquid in water. Regular car shampoo would be too mild so something a bit more alkaline would be necessary.
