Electricty, water, gas, vegetable oil, hydrogen cells, solar powered?

Or will we ever see proper implementation of these systems while the Oil companies have so much power?

Hey lfcfan
I didnt think I would find someone interested in alternative energy sources in here but there you go.
Well I am a diesel driver VW Golf and I am driving it on straight used Vegetable Oil for the last 15 k miles. Smelling rather nicely but running like a bee actually more like a Bumblebee!!!!
Befor I had a Golf, I drove a Renault Extra Van on Biodiesel, but I changed jobs and driving 55 miles one way to work everyday, The mixing of diesel just took up too much time and I converted the Golf to run on veggie oil. The best of it all is that I get the used stuff for free and only need to filter it. No mixing tanks, no poisonous chemicals and no more time wasted on heating AND filtering the stuff.
If you are a diesel driver and technically ambitious you can do most of it yourself, otherwise there are plenty of websites and workshops out there where you get the info needed.
Have a good day, and BTW the oil companies only have the power because we gave it to them!!!
Happy driving

But do you need an enormous quantity of veggie oil to do the same as a moderate amount of diesel would do :?:

veggie oil ? what exactily is involved [apart from filtering the burnt chips obviously] does it tend to coagulate when cold or is that just my frying pan :smoke:
