Well one of the most exciting GP’s of the year kicks off on Thursday with the first free practise. Looking at the longish range weather forecast, its going to be a hot weekend with temperatures between 25-27C..
So who’s going to win this cherished race then? I read in the paper the other day that Frentzen sees the track as his second best after the Nurburgring (not that he got too far on that one :rolleyes :). Many of the drivers live there for the tax free status, so they should be well used to the narrow streets. And Button sounds like here’s firing on all cylinders after his speeding offence in the South of France. Monte Carlo’s such a narrow circuit that its virtually impossible to pass on the track, so qualifying is more important here than any other race. Unless it rains, and barring any technical problems with the cars, whoever’s in Pole this weekend (or in the top 4 anyway) stands a very good chance of winning the race.

Here's an interesting idea. Below is an image from a live webcam overlooking Monaco. Every time you view this post it should be from a different part of the day, but its probably more noticeable between night and day. Handy for checking the current local weather though :)

Here's the results of today's Free Practice - its quite close between MH and MS! My money is already on Ralf and Fisichella :)
BTW, if you're watching the GP over the weekend (or even the F3000 on Sat) then keep an eye out for 2 pale coloured/red lobsters sporting Jordan T-shirts beside the Swimming Pool area, facing the marina. Just look for 2 yellow blobs surrounded by Ferrari fans ;)
