insurance on integra zxi

Hi. I'm new on here and am hoping you can help me! I've bought an integra zxi. I didn't know it was an injection but now have changed the insurance to that. Only thing is I'm wondering bout the exhaust! Anyone know if the standard exhausts are big ones? All the zxi's Ive seen have them but are they modified? If so and I insure that, how much of a difference is it likely to make to the cost? I'm having an air filter removed cos I just don't wanna risk crashing with it!! Yes I know you'll think I'm nuts but it was the looks I bought it for not the power! Does anyone actually know how much the insurance companies are charging for these mods? Seeing as nearly every second guy has a sports exhaust!!....surely they aren't all legit?

Did you buy it off a dealer or was it a private deal? I suppose you could always ask the seller if its modified in any respect. If they say no, then you have a clear conscience at least as you'd be non the wiser if it does turn out to be. If the insurer asks if its modified in any way, just say not as far as you are aware. If they ask what you mean by this, just say you asked the seller the same question and you were told 'No'. This way you are being open and honest and disclosing all you know about the car.

BTW, I take it that the filter you had removed was a non-standard one (K & N?) fitted to improve the performance? How did you know about that being non-standard?

Yeah I knew it wasn't a standard one as I do know a little bit....ok...yeah i admit it i knew it was a zxi as well but had a guilty conscience so insured it as one! i bought it privately so nothing was told to me...for god's sake the guy doesn't even know if the timing belt was done..he just brought it to garages and left them at it! So it wasn't him did anything to it, it was another guy before him..so he doesn't know either! And actually i'm a bit pissed about removing the filter, not for the fact that it aids power but for the fact that its lowered and the original filters suck in water at the bottom if the car is lowered...so i don't really know what to do!...But the exhaust...I'm actually not sure about at all! Every zxi i've seen has one and actually a friends mother has an accura and she has the big exhaust and doesn't want it either...so i don't know if that's the way they come or not!!
