Hi,

My three-year old SEAT Leon has developed a fault in the last year; when I brake to stop at e.g. traffic lights the engine cuts out, even if my foot is fully on the clutch when I brake. What's worse, when I slow down to a low speed, to corner, the engine also cuts out.

Any ideas what might be causing this and what I should do to repair it?

I would definitely have you vaccum system checked. Of course this is not something one could do easily without the proper tools and experience. So I would take it to a qualified mechanic, preferably one that has experience with SEAT's.

That's the first thing that comes to mind when the engine cuts out. Also, ignition timing is another important factor, that could be playing a role in your engine cutting out.

Best of luck

Thanks for the reply, I found some more info on this from another web site. It seems like its a common SEAT Leon problem.....my dealer better repair it for me on the warranty!

So it turns out to be an ignition issue after all huh?!!! That's strange. I mean I'm not a big SEAT fan, but come on. Give me a break, the car is not that old. Three years is nothing...
