Good news for the motorist...

Both FBD and Allianz made announcements this week of reductions in car insurance of around 5-5.5%. Not bad news to hear such reductions, but perhaps this has been sparked off by the recent report of increased profits by the insurance companies here in Ireland this year.

This is the second such reduction this year, supposedly making renewals about 13.5% cheaper when inflation is taken into account.

Ah well, looks like I have to wait another 10 months before I benefit from the latest round of reductions...and by then they'll probably have increased back up again

Yeah, inflation will take care of that for ya...

My insurance is up at the end of Nov. Be interesting to see it there is any reduction.

Could it be all smoke and mirrors.......or will I actually save money this time around.

The truth is out there.....

Well Phil I'd say its a good time to shop around just in case your current insurer doesn't reduce their premiums. Worth doing every year anyhow - its just a right pain having to call out all your details over and over. :(

Its not that bad for me. I always ring round all the insurance companies to get the lowest price. Since I have the BMW for the last 3 years, all the insurance companies already have my details.

Sweet!!
