My son has a 1990 ford taurus he got at an auction ..... it has run great up until now. He was in the card sitting at a red light ... the light turned green he stepped on the gas and the car died. They could not get it started again so the pushed it home. We thought maybe the gas gauge was defective so put some gas in it anyways just to be sure (again he just got it). Still no start it cranks no problem and the odd time it will fire but only to die right away. It supposedly has a new fuel pump and is a V6 3.0L engine ... we replaced the plugs as someone said that me be it but still nothing put key in turn cranks 1st time will start for all of 2-3 secs and then dies. After that will only crank and nothing else. Is there a chance that the guage was defective and he did run out of gas and now maybe is computer is out of wack or is it more serious like his fuel injection system somewhere. Looking for help ..........
