Does anyone know of a Volvo P1800 owner in the Dublin Region? Ultimately I would like to own one (a P1800, not a P1800 owner) and I'd like to get in contact with someone with experience of this car.

Thanks.

As somebody who is interested in classics (and attends a few shows annually) I haven't come across a P1800 so far.

Very nice car.
I recall reading an article about them in a magazine a few months ago, and it said it was VITAL to buy a good one as restoration was (a) very expensive and (b) somewhat complicated.

Might be worth contacting a UK Volvo club for info. They may even have an Irish member (or two) to put you in touch with !

Have you decided against a Volvo Amazon ?

May be worth contacting Paul Kanters also (forum moderator)-

Cheers Beetlejuice,

My intentions are to buy as good a car as is available for the reasons you have outlined. I believe if you get a good one it can run for ever (I recall reading an article about a New Yorker who put 2 million miles on his all on original parts - something of a record).

There was one at the Terenure show this summer but I don't know who brought it. I was hoping someone might.

I have e-mailed Paul but I think he's out of the country and I will check out the UK clubs.

I still like the Amazon but I've been seriously seduced by the P1800's curves, and they're reasonably affordable if you can find one.

I've since noticed that Paul has a P1800ES for sale on his site ... and it's right hand drive.

To me it's not as sleek as the P1800 (coupe) .... I always remember those from the series "The Saint" with Roger Moore
..... but it looks a nice car all the same.
