Hi Guys,

My dashboard "Brake Lamp" warning light just came on on Saturday. I have checked my Brake lights and brake fluid and all okay. Also had the car serviced a month ago and brakes are working great with not even a hint of noise out of them.
Ignoring this warning light would not be a problem except for the little detail of my upcoming NCT test.
Does anyone have any idea as to what might make this light come on and more importantly how I can make it go off again so that it dosen't affect the NCT.
I can't check the manual as it is an imported '93 Prelude and my Japanese isn't the best.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Do you have a center break light (facing the rear windshield) or possibly one on the spoiler (if you have a spoiler) ?

If so, have you checked those?

Also, as I recall, on some models the break light will light up if your pads/shoes are thinner than a certain level. Have you checked all 4?

Hi again,

I definately know the spoiler light is working. As for the breaks - well, the back break pads were replaced about two months ago and one month ago she had a full service including tyre rotation and the breaks were checked and all was good.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Why did the light not wait until next Saturday to come on - after the NCT!
