View Full Version : Strange Noise when turning left

I have a 98 Dodge Dakota with 5 speed trans. When I'm making left turns, I hear a clicking (the only noise I can compare it to is the sound of the engine stalling, but no other symptoms of this). The noise continues until I'm done making the turn and seems to be worse when I accelerate in the turn. It also is worse when it is raining. I thought it might be a loose ball joint but I tried to tighten them and that was not the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There's is pair of wheel bearings on each front wheel that hold the rotor in place (around the drive).
If those bearings are shot, you'll have the symptoms that you mentioned in your post. They'll either have to be repacked, or replaced if necessary (preferrably replaced and preferrably on BOTH sides)
That's the only thing that comes to mind reading your post.
Best of luck
