Hi, I have a 350 turbo transmission and I'm going to drain the trans fluid out because there is antifreeze in my trans and there is transmission fluid in my radiator. So now I'm going to have to drain everything. The question is in order to drain the torque converter, will I have to take the transmission out or can I drain it by taking the pan off? One more thing, the coolant lines for my transmission going to the bottom of the radiator, if they were not put on the right places, like the reverse coolant on the forward coolant line and the foward coolant line on the reverse. Will this cause transmission fluid to go In my radiator and radiator fluid to go in my transmission? Thankyou for the help. jeepv8

The short answer is, if you want to drain 100% of the fluids, you can either drop the tranny or, you can do it the way they do at lube places, where they use a pump. If you can get your hands on a decent pump with decent power, you can actually attach it to the tranny pipes that take the tranny fluid out to the radiator. In that case, you would have to make sure the pump is hooked up air tight, and then you can suck all the fluid out of the tranny. Again make sure you have enough suction if you go the pump route.

Good luck...
