Would it be a rover or a Jag. It seems to have a British look to it.

It's not a Rover or Jaguar.
Maybe the photograph distorts the size a bit, but it's actually a smallish car, really.

Maybe it a Trabant with chrome bumpers and an Impreza Turbo bonnet scoop!!!.
Actually I was going to say Reliant Sabre but you said it wasn't made in RHD, and judging by what appears to be a Nardi or Nardi-esque steering wheel it's most likely an obscure European brand.Did Abarth make an odd version of a Fiat 12x???
I suppose I'm miles off again.Any news on the idea of showing sections of cars that was suggested previously?

The photo is back to front isn't it? It is actually a RHD car...

Is it a Lancia ?

PaulKanters

Aha, interesting question!!! But no, it is indeed a LHD car. There were never any Right hooker for this one (oops, I have given a clue...)

For any of you clever chappies, I have 'smugded' the label on the bonnet, so don't bother zooming in on it... ;). Also the "Dutch" registration number I have carefully removed, just to make sure nobody is going to ring the Vehicle Registration Offices in the Netherlands, to track down the registration number and obtain the make of the car that way.
Back to the good old guessing game

Becos, you don't realise how close you actually are, but it's not an Abarth special. Excellent guess though!

Also Junior, I'm afraid it's not a Lancia, but guys you're in the right country!!!!

That's all I'm letting you off with now ;)

Could it possibly be an Innocenti Mille or something around that area.

Again, interesting suggestion BeCos and you're still warm, but it's a bit more 'upmarket' than an innocenti...

The round headlights remind me of a very old BMW (you see I'm blind http://www.eforecourt.com/UBB/clown1.gif ), but maybe its an old Alfa? No?

Just looking at the car nice and close. Does the badge/logo on the car start with a E or if you flip the image horz is it a B ?

PaulKanters

Jeez, Phil, I thought I 'blanked' out the logo by making it very fuzzy, so I don't know how you are able to distinguish something out of the badge, I don't know :)

Nevertheless, the badge does NOT contain a B or an E.

So far, we have found out that the car is Italian car and some sort of "hybrid"...

ONE MORE DAY LEFT, so left keep those guesses coming!

Is it a Fiat 124 Rally .. I'm not sure I can't really get a good enough pic to confirm it but it is similiar and it was sorted/made by Abarth ..

cheers

Would this be a Peugeot 404 coupe. It looks like a Pininfarina style of body lines???.Are the tyres Michelin X, French headlights, does the air scoop on the bonnet mean that it is an injection model??. Other than that I am lost.

Citroman, I'm afraid it's not a Pug 404 Coupe, but you are right, there are similarities and the car was indeed designed by PininFarina. Well spotted!!

Junior, it's not a Fiat 124, as this car is earlier, BUT it is a FIAT! Now, I only need to hear from you the model and what lies under the bonnet to make this car so special!!! It's not Abarth this time...
