Well BeCos, you guessed right! It is indeed a Volvo.
It's the Volvo P1900 to be precise and it was produced from 1956 to 1958. The car sits on the chassis of a PV444 (the old "hunchback" volvo's) and the engine was the antiquated 1414cc engine, with an output of 70bhp at 5500rpm. However, the weight of the car was only 920kg! So performance was not bad at all for the era! The main feature of the car is actually that the bodywork is constructed of Fibreglass! However, that was actually also its downfall, as Volvo did not know how to solve all the problems that came along with it, and the car was dropped two years later with only 67 made.

This 'failed' production is probably the reason why Volvo has been so reluctant to bring out a Convertible, until the C70 convertible came out.

Tomorrow, I will have the next mystery car for you all!

Yes I might have guessed it right, but it was a guess, until last night when I discovered the car in an old Classic Cars Magazine I had.I knew I saw it somewhere ,doh!!!

Well, it's the guessing that gets you the answer in the end, isn't it?

I will certainly be visiting the Motor Show in Kildare as I wouldn't want to miss the first Classic Car Auction in Ireland for many many years.
On the Irish Classic and Vintage Show in Harold's Cross on June 25th I will taking out a stand and display a number of cars for sale. So I'll see you all there, I guess. Oh, and don't forget to bring your Chequebook :D

Paul,

Maybe this is a chance for all us electronic motorists to meet up. Considering you know more than anyone else about the show, how's about posting a thread on the 'Motor Mouth' forum with the details and proposing a meet up. Maybe also give the details on MW too. A good place to meet friend and foe ;)

PS Either show sounds good, but the eForecourt Crew won't be around for the June weekend as we'll be living it up over in Monaco for the F1 GP :D , so does that knock one of the events on the head?

Ciaran, that sounds like a good idea. On the 25th of June I will be there with a stand and a number of cars for sale, so anybody can come by if they want (the more the merrier, as it draws in the crowds and prospective buyers, and that's what I will be there for of course ;))

I will post some messages in due course to remind people of the show. It's still more than a month away now anyway.
