Been drinking again last night Chancer ;), your vision is a bit blurred...
Okay, okay, okay, point taken. the pic is fairly grotty. Here is another one, and please, spare me the remarks about the man and the woman, as they seem to have other things on their mind :)

Is it a Bristol 400 series from the mid to late '50's, maybe a 404 or 406!!

Sorry BeCos, it's not a Bristol. You've got the era spot on though.
I think you'll be kicking yourself again once you find out what car it is ;)

Ah Toad! You saved the day. Finally a reply. I thought everybody deserted my thread by now... but it seems there still are some people out there willing to have a shot at it...
But, I'm afraid to say it is not an American piece of junk. It is definitely European!

Well I must admit that I know absolutely nothing about classic cars, but I've been following these threads and I've now decided to make a small guess and make a fool out of myself ;) I have no idea what type of car it could be, but for starters would the car be of British origin?

Good for you Tony!
However, it's NOT a British car, I'm afraid...
Keep up the guessing as I will give away the answer on Wednesday, and we wouldn't want that, really ;)

Would it have been manufactured in Eastern Europe? Come on Paul, give us poor classic amateurs a hint!

The make of this car is such a household name, that it is very difficult to give hints without giving the game away :)
It's not a eastern european car

Would it be of Italian origin? Ferrari, Fiat, or Alfa maybe?

Could it be a Volvo? Hmm, doesn't look boxy enough. Maybe a Saab? Or how about a VW, Audi or even a BMW? If I'm not getting any hotter then I give up! http://www.eforecourt.com/UBB/bounce.gif

Tony, you have just burnt your fingers :)
You thought by just throwing in all the household name car makes, you would bound to get it sometime, and so you did. Pity you still don't know exactly which one, but it is one of the makes you mentioned...

I'd say its a VW judging by those round headlights. Am I close Paul?

I guess Volvo, and it is just a guess as I've never seen one of these before.I reckon it slots somewhere between the ugly PV544 and the pretty P1800 Coupe but other than that I still reckon it looks like a Bristol.Actually maybe its a SAAB considering the Airplane connection, no I'll stick with Volvo.
So near and yet so far :( Hmm, I'd say its a German car, so I'll go with Audi. But then again I'm probably wrong, yet again http://www.eforecourt.com/UBB/disgust.gif
