Hi there
I own a 7 month old Multispace 1.9d with 13,000 on the clock. I am very happy with the car but the fuel economy is the worst i have ever had with a diesel. I have owned the car from new. I ran the engine in as required and don't drive the car hard at all. The best I have ever got out of a tank is 42 miles to the gallon. These days with a combination of motorway and city driving the fuel light comes on at around 390 miles and takes around 51 litres to fill. Thats roughly 33, 34 miles to the gallon!!! I got this out of a 1985 VW Polo years ago. On the motorway I drive at a steady 75 mph. The car has been serviced by Citroen and they said that they could find no faults with the engine. Surely this can't be the normal economy for this engine, it has been around for years in many types of car. Is there anything I can check or is the engined tuned differently for this car. I know this is a bit long winded and fuel economy depends on on various factors but this can't be right. Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Paul
