Have a 1994 205 turbo diesel. Sometimes when away the car wont start and just gives a click, but will bump no problem every time. Changed the starter but problem still there. Got the starting ring checked this ok also. It doesn't do it all the time mostly when i'm away though. Sometimes just rocking the car in gear will 'unstick it' Somebody said change the ignition, but weren't sure. Any ideas any one ??

Sounds like an electrical problem.Possibly some of the wires from the battrey are loose, either the live feed to the starter,or the earth to the engine.Check that there is current coming from the ignition switch, to the starter, when the key is held over to the start position.

Also, check to see how healthy your battrey is.The car would atsrt with a push, but not from the key, if the battrey is done for.

Well, I remember a friend had this problem with a gasoline engine not too long ago. It would click but it wouldn't turn over. Turned out the head was blown and also the pistons were sticking. So a week and $3k later, it was back to normal. They had to rebuild the engine.

Hope your case is not that severe, just my 2 cents.
