Hi, I have a 1995 escort and when i change gears or accelerate round a corner i seem to loose traction momentarily on one wheel causing the steering to wobble. (a bit to chancy on a wet day for my liking) I suspect this may be the track control arm or possibly the track rod end worn. Can someone please advise if this is correct and is it a bit job to fix.
Cheers

Which wheel?

The inner wheel or the outer wheel?

I'm assuming the inner wheel, but do tell me if it's different.

All front wheel drive cars will do this to a certain extent .... it's why they're not particularly good driver's cars.

Obviously it can be reduced by making sure the setup conforms to the factory standard. Only real way of checking this is to go see a suspension specialist. They can perform checks to see the current state of play, and then make any adjustments to suit.

thanks for your reply. it seems to be the passenger side. seems to be out too much to be fixed by a slight adjustment.

So it doesn't matter if you're turning left or right ... it's always the passanger side?

If so, that's not normal and needs sorting by a specialist!

no, sorry it seems to pull the left side first and its that side that seems to go loose.

sounds like a wishbone or bush to me?

Does it brake evenly or pull suddenly to 1 side?

Would suggest getting it sorted asap. Any decent tyre fitting station or similar should be able to diagnose fairly easily.

As for doing the job it will make you swear if you are not very experienced at changing parts.
