Hi,

my car insurance is up for renewal and I received 2 penalty points for speeding in the last year.
Can I avoid informing the insurance company that I renew with of this fact? What are the implications if I don't inform them and has anyone any idea how much 2 penalty points affects your premium?

thanks,

24 year old male with 1 year no claims bonus

Yes you can try to avoid telling them.

The consequences............. figure them out yourself......... but here is a clue......... NO COVER fir 5 years if you are found out.

Do you know that your points are stored on a central databse which is accessible by Garda & Insurance Companies............ 'got it' :evilangel

Hibernian give u a 10% discount for no points, but don't load for 2 points. If u don't inform them of your points you will be hit for a hefty excess if you make a claim. Dunno about other companies.
