No worries, due to the small amount of replies to my mystery cars, it is quite clear that I will need to throw in a couple of easy ones!!!
Hang in there...

YEeaah! I finally guessed one!

Didn't those Simca 1000s' have one of the noisiest engines in the world, like the Talbot Horizon that was its cousin. Surely the perfromance 1200S had something a bit less Industrial.

Next!!!! :)

You certainly did!! But I had to give you all a lot of clues, didn't I ;)
Yes the 1000 was a noise ba***rd allright... Handling was bad, the shape was awfull (it would make a Lada look pretty) but they were cheap and you could throw them about. The ordinary 1000 had a 49bhp engine in the back with a top speed of just under 90mph if the wind was your way...
The 1000 RallyII would have an 82bph engine in the back, good for a 110mph if you were suicidal...
The little coupe I showed, was first brought out with a 1000cc engine, but this was deemed too unsporty. So they put a 1200 in, and called it the 1200S Coupé. This gave the car 80bhp with a top speed of a 105mph. It's a shame they're not around more, because I do like the Bertone designed body a lot (if you look past the silly alloys...).

The Horizon is totally different kettle of fish and had nothing to do with the old simca's. It was a product of the buy outs and take overs of Simca, Chrysler, Sunbeam, and Talbot in the late seventies. It's hard to know what component came from where... Nough said that they were all not quite renowned for their reliability.
