I bought a 1966 Porsche 912. Going home for Christmas, the road was flooded and I went through it, a mistake I will never make again. The number three cylinder now has no compression. Does anyone know anybody that can fix this sort of engine?
All suggestions and information very welcome.
Thanks.

Ouch, that was a tough lesson to learn!!! Hot aircooled flat fours and sudden splashes of water do NOT mix very well!!!
However congrats on your 912! The ideal compromise if you love the 911 shape, but don't want to spend 911 money, and aren't too bothered about the speed and performance of the 911"S". A lot of people dismiss the 912 as a poor performer, but it isn't that much slower than the 911T, which is the basic "bottom end of the scale" 911, and which is the car you would find for sale most often. A 912 is a much better deal then.
Now regarding your engine problem, please send me a private mail and I can give you a number of contacts you can try to get your engine fixed.

This engine is similar in design to a VW engine, however the are some important differences that if not paid close attention to could destroy your engine. If you have selected a mech to work on it make sure he has a good book to rebuid it by. One of the best is from a company called HCP research. they are on the web. It is a great book that covers everything you need to know about the engine. get it and you can rebuild it yourself , I did.
hope this helps
