Some Help Re: Honda Civic Please

Hmm well, I'm sure nobody here remembers me, but what the hell I'll plough ahead with my question anyway and hope some soul takes pity on me.

I've decided on a new car - A Honda Civic SE, 5 dr. Anyway, can any of you good people tell me if this is a good buy? And also, I'm really stuck on a colour - its between red, blue and silver (colour selection is fairly crap). There are so many silvers around I'm reluctant, but then again I'm told its got a better resale value and also is easier to keep (scratches etc).

Would love some advice please if you would be so kind.

Hi Shirls! Welcome back...eh, you are who again? :p ;)

So its a Honda Civic you're going for then. IMHO you'll have plenty of room in the 5 door hatch for the family, good reliability and Civics usually have good resale value (although the initial upfront cost is more than other cars in its class). So it makes for a good buy then. Although you could save a few Euro if you found yourself a good second-hand model with full service history.

As for the colour, well its all down to personal choice really. Just don't go for any way-out colours - you'll find it harder to sell on as such colours are not to everyones taste. I take it that all these colours are metallic? Or is the red a flat red?

Anyhow over these 3 the silver does give the benifit of being easier to keep as regards looking dirty and wear and tear. If you're going to hold onto it for a good number of years then go for the silver.

Metallic red looks good when clean, but IMO it shows up dirt quickly enough (I've owned 2 cars in metallic red, so I should know!), although its not half as bad as black (never again!). As for the blue I'm not sure, never owned a blue car. However some shades of metallic blue look fantastic (not the very light ones mind you!), especially if the car has alloy wheels.

OK, just took a quick look at honda.co.uk and from what the site shows the eternal blue pearl does look good. But only 3 choices for colour? Thats really bad customer choice!! :(
