Help -- Golf GTI Mk4 electric wing mirror removal

I need to remove the drivers electrical wing mirror.
Its a 1997/1998 golf GTI Mk4
I cannot see how this is done.
Does anybody know how to remove the drivers door mirror??? :)

There was a post about this very same subject a while back. The guy finally discovered that he had to remove the door cover (from the inside of the car) and finding the screws to remove that door cover was tricky. Apparently they are hidden somewhere under the armrest if I remember correctly.
