seeing as theres a good response ill see if i can find out what this means:
when ever i drive, after about 5 minutes the electrics fault light comes on. it used to go off after a few minutes but now it stays on.
any help?

:smoke: so your engine management light comes on! it sounds like youre map sensor not working properly or the vacume pipe is split.

thanks mate. its a 2001 corsa and it had a cassette player which i had taken out and replaced with a cd player wiv a face etc. could that be the problem??

have you tried driving your corsa without the tunes going, and see if the light comes on then.what type of stereo did you fit in?

i dont really know. i aint noticed it. its a medum or sommit. quite cheap. wen i dont go fast iv noticed that triggers it off aswell.

As i mentioned in another thread, electronics aren't my thing ..... 1 of the reasons i drive the car i do .... very little electronic nonsense to go wrong ..... but i digress .... i think you've given bit of a hint in your last reply.
When you say you don't go very fast, do you just mean road speed, or the way you're driving?
Try keeping the engine revs quite high, change up a gear a little later than you would normally do, take the engine a little closer to the redline than you would normally do, see if that helps things.
My guess is that the stereo you've installed draws more power than the old one, and at low engine revs the alternator doesn't have the balls to keep everything charged up and supplied with power.
