mazda 121 stalling

Recently, my little mazda has been stalling when i come t a complete stop. the idle speed seems o.k and normal tickover speed is fine. any ideas please??

Yes, please answer this question! I just bought a '98 Toyota Tercel,
217, 000kms, and it stalles when I come to a complete stop. Not ALL the time, but if I'm stopped for longer than a minute or so. It also seems that when I press the brake hard and stop somewhat roughly, it's not so bad, and won't stall of shudder.

There's no clear answer for this problem, simply because there are numerous possibilities. Anything from your fuel pump being on it's last leg, to your fuel injectors being plugged up so not enough fuel gets through to the engine at low revs!

Does the engine shake up before it stalls or does it die calmly?
