Lock not working on Proton boot

Hello there...

We've a proton, and the boot lock is not working! I've spent some time trying to sort it (like 1/2 hr) but can not figure out why it is not working.

We live on a terraced street, and I'm not easy about it being unlocked... not to mention it bounces open, then shuts if we are on the move and go over a bump.

Can anyone give any pointers?

Don't know much about Protons but most boot locks are fairly cheap and fairly easy to fit so would suggest fitting a new one to give you peace of mind etc.

Thanks - must check it out - just been out for the weekend, selotaping the boot for journeys, and leaving the boot looking shut (but empty!) when away from the car...
