I have a 1993 renault clio that is moaning from the front offside wheel, its louder when i go round left hand bends and almost goes when i go round right hand bends.
could it be the wheel bearing?
If it isn't the wheel beaing what else in that facinity could cause the moaning?

Almost certainly the front wheels bearing .... another alternative could be binding brakes.
Depending on how you drive, the moaning coming from your left could be the missus!!! :D
Agree likely to be wheel bearings. But......... possibility it could be the CV joint on the end of the driveshaft (the bit that drives the wheel but lets it turn and bounce at same time). They would normally knock when worn but grinding is possible if perhaps the rubber boot has split and the grease dried out etc allowing bearing balls inside to wear.
