Gardai To Set Up Race Relations Unit

In a move which will bring the Gardai into line with police forces all over Europe, the force is to establish a Race Relations Unit.
Garda PJ Headquarters of the Garda Press Relations Department looked sad and a little threatened by the news which he released to reporters yesterday, until the distinction between 'press' and 'race' was fully explained to him.
The new unit will seek to overcome the traditional tensions which exist between the Gardai, who consider themselves a race apart holding a unique position within the universe, and everyone else in the country, or moored just alongside it, at any given time.
Readers who encounter a Garda are advised to keep very still and make as little noise as possible; Gardai have poor vision and a mediocre sense of smell but have been known to become violent when confused.
