banging under steering wheel

when i drive there is a banging noise around and under the steering wheel.

any ideas what it could be?????

Well without knowing what car it is, it's quite difficult to say ... but one possibility could be loose trim.

Denko, by banging under the steering wheel, do you mean a banging noise, or is there a "thumping" vibration accompanied with it?

Also, you didn't describe whether this happens only when you're truning or under all driving conditions?
