Do you have Air Conditioning? Sometimes the AC creates a greasy film inside the windscreen.
You might also see this problem if the cloth used to clean the glass was also used to buff off wax. It might have happened at the dealer or previous owner.
Try using this mixture with a clean cloth: 1 part white distilled vinegar to 3 parts water + Add a drop of washing-up liquid into it. Fold the cloth into squares and dampen it with the mix. Wipe the glass, turning and re-folding the cloth. Finish off by wiping with a dry paper towel.
If you have Isopropyl Alcohol to replace the vinegar, that's even better.
If it is the AC, it will be worth keeping the mixture and a cloth in your car for night driving.
Hope this helps you , Paresh.
Brian.

I have the same problem with the outside of my glass but only for a few seconds after each wiper movement - which becomes a problem in heavy rain when they are on fast. I changed the wipers to Bosch ones and cleaned the glass with white spirt, glass cleaner, etc. But it does not help.
Any ideas?

I used to have a coating on my windscreen called Aquapel. Fantastic stuff, it almost eliminated the need for wipers except in the heavier rain. It just beaded up and blew away. There is something available off-the-shelf which is the same idea, but is very short-lived. The name just escapes me now.... Rain-Ex or something? Help me out here guys!! Don't know where my brain is!
When I had the Aquapel on, it eliminated anything like this wet smearing and one application lasted me for at least 18 months. But a flying stone from a truck put an end to that windscreen. With the replacement window in, it was back to the same issue. I think it is something to do with the laminate on the glass which prevents it from shattering. Have a look for "Rain-Ex", an application might only last for a week or two but it should work.
Thanks,
Brian

Funny you should mention that - I have a bottle of rain-x in my boot but never used it. I'll need to have a go at it.
Thanks for the info.
