1997 Hyundai coupe fx

I just wanted to know if anybody could tell me what the strange sound from my engine is. When the car at rest(but ticking over) it has a kind of rattle that almost makes it sound like a diesel engine. Can anybody tell me what that might be?????

Anyone know what type of tappets that engine used?

Thanks guys. I'm getting soebody to look at it this weekend so i'll post the result. Somebody suggested to me that it might be the tappits.
