I recently was told about an inexpensive “Phone Portal" , a number you call that only charges a "national rate" anywhere in Ireland, but that once you dial it, you can call most countries in the world, but opnl;y get charged that national rate. While this may not be much cheaper than some of the deals for countries like the US, for many other countries this represents really good value! Cost = about 8 cents / min peak and about 5 cents / min off peak.
The number is 0818 242000, you just listen to the greeting and then dial your number normally, i.e. 00 + area code etc....
To be clear about this: this is something I was shown at work, I have used it a few times, and I think it saves money, but I have no vested interest in it myself.
Let me know what you think, conor@inovasolutions.ie
