The M1 the 2000, 2002 and the bmw vixen are the only ones I'd consider classics. But as has been said before it's all a matter of opinion and taste.
You may not have heard of the vixen .........
here ye go...........................

I would add the BMW 328, and the earlier turbo Gullwing sportscar.:smoke:

Well exotic BMW's might be the first that come to mind - but back in 1979 when I worked for a Ford main dealer if anyone asked me would a Mk 2 Escort become a classic I would have thought they were mad. :realmad:
Same with the BMW's - I reckon the humble 3 series coupe (is it an E36) will be a classic.
This is a pic of mine - I bought it new in 1998 (M pack, suede seats Yummy)sold it 2003 but thats life. Is a future classic IMO anyway :naughty:

Not in 1979, but it didn't take that long into the 80s before people were looking on Mk2 Escort RS 2000s and Mk3 Capri 3.0S as modern classics. Indeed, I would say that the Capri was already a classic by the time it ended production in 1987. A curious situation where people would turn up to club meets in early 70s Capris, and you could still buy a new one in the late 80s!
The BMW Batmobile is a settled classic.

I'd have to give the 6-series a vote...

The 505 State saloon for dignatories was the ultimate example of the 501/2 V8 family. With the most powerful version of the post war aluminum ohv 3.2 V8, 160 bhp. Top speed 120 mph, very fast in the late 1950s.:smoke:
