I've heard of people using peanut butter to get rid of wax marks from black trim... but its just the oils in it that work. Try a little Olive oil on some cotton wool and rub it in. Regular wax residue is removed easily this way. The Wash n Wax products don't actually contain any wax (thereby a scam in my books). Its just a load of mineral salts which leaves a film on the car. It shouldn't be white on the black trim though, as this is usually the white clay used as a filler in cheap waxes - its the white haze that forms.

So if the olive doesn't work try the end of the spectrum and rub a little tar remover on it. One or the other should work.

Brian.

Hi there,

sorry for the delay getting back to you. I was away for two weeks on hols.

Its very hard to say without seeing the problem. Are you sure the marks were not there before you used the wash n'wax? Maybe you can look at them with a magnifying glass to assess the damage give me a description. White marks on black paint could describe either contamination (something that has bonded to the paint) or Paint Damage (where the paint has been damaged, scratched chipped, etc.)

Let me know if you find out anything else. In the meantime, I wouldn't suggest any abrasives like T-Cut etc.

Thanks,

Brian
