Well modern Ford's ain't my thing ... and I'll keep my comments about the Probe being a Mazda in drag & a poor replacement for the Capri to myself :smoke: ...
BUT ...
Need more info.
Does the engine turn but the car not fire up?
Is it completely dead and won't turn at all?
Does it cough and splutter but just not catch?
My gut feeling is the fuel cut off switch has been tripped - most Ford's of about that age have a switch that cuts off the fuel in the event of a crash ... some can get a touch tempremental in their old age! :)
Will be able to give you a better idea with a little more info on the problem.

yeah it turns over fine,,,just doesnt fire or even make an effort to fire,,,tried jump starting it,,,tow starting it,,,and i have to admit even after trying for a few time theres no smell of fuel like i'd expect i.e flooding...if its the fuel cut off how do i reset of check it??? thanx for ya time.........btw i agree its a mazda in drag.....its a seriously bad replacement for the capri.........i'd rather have a capri anyday being a big fan and owned 7 in my time....cant find a decent one at not stupid money tho :-(

Well my Capri cost me £800 ... the first bigger engine cost £150. The current bigger engine cost £1200.
I am now seriously addicted to power! :)
But £1200 for a freshly rebuild 5 litre 300+bhp V8 ain't too bad.
As for your fuel cut off valve, not a sodding clue, sorry mate. Do a google for the Ford Probe Owners Club (there is 1 - have seen them at a few shows) and see if they've got someone you can ask technical queries to.
On Sierras they're found either under the plastic on the sides of the passanger footwell, or in the spare wheel well. That's as much info as I can give you unfortnately.

Sorry - moved from Croydon last summer ... only got round to updating my profile today! :)
2.8's ... too slow, too complicated. Beat a stock 1 in a straight drag race with my 2nd engine (first lasted the drive home after buynig the car before being ripped out for being too small!). This 3rd engine will out run just about anything on wheels short of an F15! :smoke:
Good Capri forum: http://www.network54.com/Forum/67242
As for decent places to buy cars ... if you're willing to pay top money for top cars, Affordable Classics www.classicfordcars.co.uk (http://www.classicfordcars.co.uk) is just about the best place to buy. Cheaper than that, Ebay is as good as anywhere - just make sure you check the car out before parting with the cash. Buying blind is just plain stupid!
