Power steering problem

Hi all,

I am currently driving a 98 bmw 320i e36 model, and within the last week I have lost all power steering. It makes a really loud noise when turning the steering wheel left and right. Now I topped up the steering fluid and that did nothing. (it was near the top anyway)

Could ir be a electrical fault or something else?

Any suggestions would be appriecated.

Check the tension of your power steering belt, if that seems ok then perhaps someone has put wrong fluid in the resivoir or dirt has got in. Would be very rare for the pump to be gone wrong.
