Can anyone help?
have an opel corsa and recently i have noticed that the bottom of the oil cap is coated with a creamy substance and it getting worse. its not losing any water so i presume its not the head gasket. it had been parked up for a while so could that have caused it. should i be worried?

Well, anytime your oil is coagulating, you wanna at least find out what the cause of it is. How long was the car stored? And is there a lot of moisture in the air where the car was parked for a while? There may have been some condensation over time.

If the answer to the above doesn't explain it, you could be looking at a bad gasket. It doesn't have to lose a lot of coolant to cause that effect. It may be at the early stages so the collant loss is minimal.

Good luck with it...

It can be caused by condensation - usually from doing lots of short journeys with time for the engine to go stone cold in between.

But the vast majority of times, it's because the head gasket has gone.
