Michael Schumacher took the first World Drivers' Championship in 21 years for Ferrari, by winning the Japanese Grand Prix in style. Although a brilliant start by Mika Hakkinen saw him take the lead, the Finn was not able to hold on.
Master tactician, Ross Brawn, was able to gain the German track time during a short period of light rain, and he passed the Finn during the second pitstop. Coulthard was third, followed by Barrichello, Button and Villeneuve.
Good stuff Schumi.
Cheers Phil.
