View Full Version : provisionals being f^*ked once again!
We is being f^*ked,
not only is insurance sky high for provisional drivers, now we ain't even allowed to drive the god dam car without a full licensed driver! Even though this law has always been around, it has never been enforced until now. Most people have no choice but to drive and risk a fine. I know of several people who have recently been done over this.
ridiculous,
f^*fing ridiculous!!!!

The driving test isn’t that hard to pass now to be honest. The only disadvantage is the long waiting list to actually do the test itself. If someone cannot pass the test within several attempts then maybe they shouldn’t be in control of a car in the first place. It would make our roads a safer place to drive. So provisional drivers, do yourself the favour first and pass your test, then come back here again and rant about the insurance rip off too!
He, He, it’s a long way to 30 guys http://www.eforecourt.com/UBB/evil.gif

Well Tony, I feel that once a driver passes their test, there driving skills go out the window. I think you should be made take a test every 5 years. There is alot of older people on the road that are slow to react to the traffic. Some of the worst drivers I've seen are people who have passes there test.
So insurance companies are using learners as a milking machine for money.

I feel you are missing my point. What is the point in paying the high premiums if you are gona get fined for driving the f^*king thing!
Has anyone else had heard of this happening or are me and my friends the only unfortunat ones out there? http://www.eforecourt.com/UBB/disgust.gif

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">Gav, lets this straight you are complaining that once you have a provisional licence, you think it is ok for you to drive on the road completely unsupervised ??
Firstly it's against the law the same as anything else like speeding or murder just because the law isn't enforced doesn't mean you can break it.
Secondly breaking this law invalidates your insurance so high premimums don't matter.

I wouldn't be surprised if a contributing factor to the high insurance premiums generally and for young people in particular is the huge amount of provisional drivers. I would imagine that insurance companies include both full license holders and provisional license holders when doing their age profiling. Assuming that provisional license holders are a significantly higher risk than those who have demonstrated a fundamental ability to drive, it increases the premiums for those with full licenses too.
What am I supposed to do in the mean time while I am waiting for my test. The only way I can get to work is by car, and it is totally impossible for me to get a fully liscensed driver to go with me every day. Do you not think it is reasonable for me to be miffed!! There is no way around it. I have to go to work, and I have to drive to get to work. There is nothing I can do but wait till my test and hope I pass!

Gav,
I must say that all you're doing is bitching & moaning here.As Junior says a law is a law and therefore if you break it you pay the consequences. You can jump the waiting list for the test by sending a request for an urgent test which will still give you two weeks notice before you have the test or you can get your boss to write a letter stating that you need a full license to do your job and you'll probably get your test in a matter of weeks. There are always ways around these things so why don't you get off your arse and do your test instead of moaning about the law. There are far too many people in this country quite content to drive around with provisional licenses for as long as they can and yes Anders you're right it must be a contributing factor to the high insurance premiums.I know the country needs more testers but there are still ways to bypass the queue.
