Potholes

Has anyone ever felt like just killing someone from the Council, here we are paying out Taxes and, watching them leaning again shovels on the roadside every day, Earlier this week I was unlucky enough to have a run in with a pothole half way across the road, How the ***** are we suppose to pass an NCT with this sort of **** going on.

I agree fully with you Kid. The cliché of the county council worker resting on his shovel while enjoying a smoke is still to be seen on our streets today. But have you actually seen these ‘pot-hole busters’ outfits? Its an absolute joke, I can tell you. Empty a shovel full of tarmacadam into a pot-hole and beat it in with the back of your shovel. Stop for a cup of tea and a smoke, then on to the next pot-hole. By the time they’ve filled in a considerable amount of pot-holes, older ones have simply opened up again. It’s one vicious circle that keeps them in a job. Why can’t they spend some of the revenue from VRT and road tax and get our roads sorted out permanently? Can someone please tell me what are road tax money goes against. It differntly does'nt go against are roads. My brother's car fell into a pothole once and I never seen him again.

Some of the potholes down in the country are been converted into lakes to attract more tourist.

Well supposedly they are going into the roads but they can't all be because we'd all be driving on super highways everyday if they were.The amount of road tax we pay in this country is ridiculous considering the roads we are obliged to drive on.We've got Vrt,Road Tax & Petrol tax + EC structural funds all supposedly going back into the roads.
I will say that things have improved over the last few years and alot of bypasses etc are being completed but still we have a very long way to go.
Those council guys are just a laugh.They're completly taking the **** out of the system and getting away with it and we'd all do the same if we could.I wonder do those guys get paid much.

I think they get about 200 tea bags a week. :D

After 20 years work, they get there own coffee machine.
