Well I suppose you've all seen the black billboards with the blue question mark, and I'm sure most of you already figured it was for the release of the PS2 ;)

So today is the big day when 8,000 lucky people in Ireland receive their brand new black consoles. Has anyone here managed to get their grubby paws on one?

I wonder of the new PS2 will be as 'user friendly' as the old one, if you catch my drift? ;) I've heard that Sony put a lot of effort into the new one to discourage piracy.

Well shall we put it like this, I will be waiting until I'm sure that I can chip it to play copied games and multi region DVDs as well so I have all the fun of the fair and none of the hassle

Now If I could do DVD copying ...

*Dredges this up from the past*

Got a new PS2 for Christmas and got Need for Speed Underground 2. Talk about bloody addictive. I'm now rapidly becoming a virtual "Boy Racer".

While were talking about the PS2, has anyone out there got the networking gaming working with NTL. Bought the feckin network adapter for the PS2 pluged it in and all there was in the list of service providers was eircom. What about feckin NTL, esat etc????

Tried manualy putting in the settings that the computer uses, but to no avail. NTL where as helpful as a one arm man hanging from a cliff and then asking him to give his hand so they can pull you up.

AHH help, I have lots of network games and can't feckin use them.....

The Irish ISP aren't really that hot on supporting the consoles. If fact, this is the first I've heard that Eircom support the PS2. ALl that's ever been mentioned is that Eircom support XBox. I think you still may have to wait awhile. On the plus side, now when Eircom finally gets to my area, I'll be able to play. Cool.
