Firstly, Happy new year to one and all.

Statoils in Limerick have made it a little happier and appear to be cutting prices in each station indivdually.

The Cheapest in the city is now selling UInleaded for 63.9p and Diesel for 60p ..which is more inline with the recent Oil Price drop.

Cant complain for a change...Hopefully it will start another round of a price war..

Well with the Vat Drop and the price drop hopefully things will get better, except for Shell who seem not to have a care about prices.

Yes Happy New Year to everyone!

My local Texaco station put their prices up to 69.9p during the Christmas holidays - what a rip-off!! :realmad:

Guess I'll be bringing my business elsewhere, like Statoil or Maxol whom appear to have their prices more realistically set. Hell, even my nearest Shell station does better!

I'd imagine there will be more than one place to abuse the VAT reduction, but what can we do?

By this morning the two stations in close proximity to the Statoil had responded - The nearby Texaco had gone from 68.9 to 63.6p in one swoop while the Dillons Texaco had dropped to 63.5p.
Just goes to prove that these guys are ripping People off in the first place..

I looked around last nigh and couldn't find anywhere cheaper than 68.3 some 69.7 but nothing cheaper.

And Maxol have announced 5p OFF this morning guess who thumped the steering wheel this am ... Ahh well heres hoping it's the start of things to come.

If anyone has a list of garages that are selling unleaded petrol lower than 68p within Dublin can you let me know. All the garages that I passed today where all up in the high 68's.

Ivo,
Which stations in Limerick are gone down to 63.5p??
The best I've seen was 67p and I thought that was good.

Astra,

Apparently, in the last few hours Frank Hogans has dropped to 63.3p. I cant confirm that myself but I'd believe it cause theyve all dropped in the last 24 hours.
Others are:
Statoil, Fairgreen, Ballysimon Road 63.9p
Esso, Mulgrave Street (near Statoil) 63.6p (dropped last night)
Texaco, Dillons, near Parkway S.C, 63.5p(dropped last night)

The Price of Crude Oil has dropped by over Ten Dollars a barrel and coupled with the Vat Reduction obviously some people are making their reductions now, it's also looking like it's helping inflation as well

Ps Welcome back Astra... hope your boy racer taunting days have calmed a bit ;)

Jaysus Dermot, 62.5 is very cheap. Yer man at the Amber station is always hard to beat. I'm goin to go down later in the week for a full fillup. I suppose its best to wait until the dust settles and then get the chepeast stuff.

On top of the crude oil price fall, the Euro has strengthened of against the Dollar etc..

Hence, our inflation rates should come down in next month's figures (this months only go up to December 31st...correct me if I'm wrong)

Yep Junior,
I'm a much calmer person nowdays.
I took heed of the slagging off I got for that.
I still hate boy racers though.
