:p I have arrived!!!! Fear not, the forums can continue!!!!
OK as some of you know, last year I had an accident with my little Yaris .... had to claim off my insurance ... now the damn thing is up for renewal again and I'm wondering if i can expect a huge hike in my premium because of it? I have no NCB as it was my first years insurance. Plus, when I estimate the value of my car, whats a legitimate depreciation amount for a year old car???? £2k???
Tks

Hi Shirls,
I must admit I've never been in the position where I've made a claim off my insurance (touch wood), and I dread the day if ever it happens. I do remember that spot of bother you had, hmm, wasn't it that you unleashed your Yaris onto a gate and it came out the worse? ;) As regards the drop in value, some insurance companies will automatically adjust the amount insured, but roughly a 10% depreciation would be enough if you do about 11k miles a year. Unfortunately I'd say you'll be lucky to get off lightly after putting in a claim in your first year, be prepared for a big shock

Hey Junior, I think she's going to need more than vaseline to sort that quote out.

Well emmmm..thanks....so i should expect a huge hike in my already £1,200 premium. Think I'll have to sell the car to pay for it... LOL

Hey Shirls,
I don't think it will be as bad as all that.
One question, what happen that you had to claim off the insurance?
Was it totally your fault?

I was kinda forced into admitting liability ( a comination of being a learner, being related to the driver of the other car and many other stupid reasons), though i only just claimed my own damages from insurance and paid his in cash.
