Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Paris? I'm looking for something thats offers 3star(+) accommodation which is good value for money, and boasts a good central location in the city centre?

Alternatively, has anyone successfully booked European accommodation on the net, and what site did you use?

Cheers.

Whip,

Myself, the wife and the in laws stayed in a small Hotel called Opera Cadet pretty much in the centre of Paris.
Its on Rue de le Cadet and there is also a tube stop called CADET about 100 yards away-You can get there in two changes from CDG Airport, hence not too much bag lugging...
It was a smashin hotel for what we thought was a reasnoble price - although I cant remember how much it was somewhere between 30-45 quid pp (incl Buffet Breakfast which to us Irish means a whale of a breakfast!) a night.
I reckon it was only recently refurbished as it had a modern feel in the lobby and in the rooms...
It is within walking distance of the Opera Square(10mins) and, the Louvre(20 mins)/Champs Elyeses(25 mins)...although the tube is so much easier..

Thanks Ivo. Some more advice is required if you don't mind...

The hotel you mentioned, is it located near the Opera house? Probably a stupid question I know, but the reason I ask is that I was looking at this hotel (http://www.cybevasion.com/hotels/france/75/2/hotel-louvre-marsollier-opera/) near the opera house. If you look at this map (http://www.paris-tourism.com/map/mapr6.html), the hotel is situated where the purple number '05' is, with the cadet metro station up in the top right-hand corner.

Is this hotel well located?

I would have is the Trinite Plaza, its featured in the AerLingus Aer Tours brochure and is number 2. Its a short walk from The Opera and a nice hotel (with a decent breakfast which is rare in Paris IMHO)
