Insurance on Impreza Turbo

Hi,
I currently own a 1999 Subaru Legacy (2.0) and think it's almost time to go for the car I really want... an Impreza Turbo. I'm over 30 with a full (5 year) no claims bonus. I rang a few insurance companies only to be told that they don't insure performance cars. Can anyone point me at some insurers who will cover the car for an amount that doesn't mean I have to remortgage my house?

Deckard, there’s another thread on this subject below (http://www.eforecourt.com/UBB/Forum1/HTML/000062.html) . You may want to give that a read. As a matter of interest, what insurance companies did you try? Did you go direct or have you tried a broker? Glennons appears to be the best one for this sort of insurance, and its extremely advantageous if you belong to a professional body that are recognised by them. Also, maybe your workplace have a group insurance scheme? HTH.
