Hi, I sent my car in for quote last week to find out how much it would cost to repair.

They had a look and told me they would send out a fax later that they. I felt good leaving the garage as they said there was'nt much damage.

I got the fax later that day and this is what it read:

BMW 320i SE

NEW PARTS

L/H REAR LAMP____________1___75.00
L/H REAR BUMPER PAD_____1___19.00

REMOVE & REFIT

L/H REAR LAMP
L/H REAR BUMPER PAD

REPAIR

REAR PANEL
REAR BUMPER

PREPARE & PAINT

REAR PANEL
REAR BUMPER

ADDITIONAL COST

PAINT AND SUNDRY ITEMS__________75.00

So far so good. But then to my horror , I read this:

TOTAL LABOUR___________________320.00

VAT @ 12.50%

TOTAL___________________________550.13

Is this taking the piss or does labour really cost this much.

Can you let me know if this is around the normal prices charged in Dublin?

Not in Dublin Phil, I'd ask for a break down of the hours as well. Ben is your man to ask on getting stuff done like that ... if you want to PM me I can pass on his details ?

The Celtic Tiger strikes again!

Phil, having the job done outside of Dublin should lower the labour costs, but by how much is anyones guess.

72 York Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
tel : 2808354
Fax: 2301307

Hope that's some use. Talk to you later

Sorry I forgot to get back to you's.

A friend of mine is doing the Job for around £200/£250

That's half the price of the other lot. All I can say is NICE ONE!
