I heard from a colleague today that both the toll roads in Dublin are actually free to pass through at the moment due to the current strike. Apparently they are free between 10:00AM and 6:00PM. Can anyone verify this?
On a separate but related note, I believe that the NTR stand to loose revenues of about £38,000 per day on the Westlink toll, and about £15,000 on the east toll. One has to ask why the hell are they still allowed to charge the toll in the first place. I thought that when the profits had paid back the costs of the bridge/road development, then they would be abolished? But no, money talks and... its just typical of this country!
